About Us
The Prophetstown Fire Protection District is a non-profit organization. Having this status allows us to receive a substantial part of our support from the local government as well as recieve assistance from area residents and organizations. We operate out of three stations that protect over 138 square miles that includes the municiples of Hooppole, Lyndon, and Prophetstown. The Prophetstown Fire Protection District not only provides the residents with fire protection and rescue services, but also our ambulance services are always at the ready in case of any medical emergency. We serve over 600 farms and a population exceeding 6,000 people. Our district currently operates with 5 engines, 1 tender, 3 squads, 1 chief car, 2 ambulances, 2 boats, and 2 brush trucks.


In 1935, the Prophetstown Fire Department ran out of the City Hall on the Prophetstown Main Street.
