Thad Driscoll had to move away to follow his newest job opportunity, therefore he was forced to retire from Firefighting for the Prophetstown Fire Department. We wish him luck!

Prophetstown Fire Department would like to welcome Kyle Russ as a new probationary firefighter. He was voted on the department on October 11th 2011.

On October 11th the Prophetstown Fire Department ordered a depth finder for Boat 1 and a cordless tool kit.

9-11 Memorial Service

Saturday the 16th the Prophetstown Fire Department participated in a memorial service for a piece of steel that was brought to the area from world trade center. The group of surrounding Fire Departments and Agencies gathered and lined up at the airport. The 9-11 Steel was placed on the back of the engine at Menards, Shop-ko, and Walmart for the public to view and have pictures taken with. The piece of steel is going to be temporarily held at the Dixon Fire Station until the Memorial Park in Dixon is ready to host it as its permanent home. The Convoy consisted of Prophetstown Fire, Dixon City Fire, Sterling Fire, Rockfalls Fire, Whiteside County Sheriff Dept, Tampico Fire, Ohio Fire, Lee County Sherrif Dept, Amboy Fire, Polo Fire, Ashton Fire, Oregon Fire, Chadwick Fire, Milledgeville Fire, and Harmon Fire Deptartments.
